Queer musician & activist Joji Baro demands to know why the Kenya Film Classification Board banned his music video for ‘pornography’.

Gay singer Joji Baro caused drama in an open forum hosted by Kenya Film Classification Board to seek the input of industry’s stakeholders on the proposed new law that banned the airing of commercials relating to betting, contraceptive products and alcoholic drinks in the watershed period between 5am and 10pm a time when children are not yet asleep.

Ezekiel Mutua came under fire from key players in the industry who claimed the new proposed law was draconian.

Emotions ran high at a packed Louis Leakey auditorium yesterday October 11th as angry industry players hurled insults and shouted as they talked.

Gay singer Joji Baro caused drama when he was given a chance to express his concerns to Ezekiel Mutua and other KFCB directors.

“My name is Joji Baro and I belong to all gay and lesbian associations in Kenya.” Joji Baro introduced himself as he intentionally tried to ‘hurt’ Ezekiel Mutua who is homophobic.

The singer demanded to know why Kenya Film Classification Board banned his music video for ‘having pornographic material.’
